For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth;

Romans 1:16

Cambria Baptist Church supports many missionaries that are spreading the good news of the Gospel all around the world.  The Ladies Missionary Society is a group of ladies from the congregation that organize many different efforts throughout the year to support different missions and ministries abroad and here in Hillsdale County and Michigan.

Some of these efforts include:

FebruaryGOODIE BOXES   Empty coffe cans are filled with homemade cookies, brownies, and sweet treats for all of the college students and military personnel from the congregation.  These boxes are delivered to each student or military serviceman personally or shipped to them.  They are a welcome boost during long weeks away from home and a wonderful reminder of the people who love them at Cambria.

October – BABY BOTTLE DRIVE – Empty baby bottles are distrubuted to the congregation and loose change is collected until the bottle is full.  The full bottles are donated to Alpha Omega which is an outreach for woman, babies and their families in the Hillsdale Community since 1986.  In 2010, Cambria donated $451.00 to Alpha Omega.

November – THANKSGIVING BASKETS – The ladies packed 23 baskets full of fresh fruits such as apples, pears, oranges, bananas, and grapes along with nuts and hard candy.  These items are donated by the congregation for the baskets that will be delivered to widows, widowers, and shut-ins in our church family and the community.

December-MITTEN TREE – A Christmas tree is set up in the main foyer for the collection of winter mittens, hats, and scarfs for children and teens.  The donated items are taken to campers at Youth Haven Ranch in Rives Junction, Michigan.  In December 2010, Cambria donated 159 hats, 51 scarves, 78 pairs of mittens/gloves, and 12 pairs of socks.

Year Long Ministries

Baby Quilts – The ladies also create cute baby quilts for the newest members of the Cambria family.  We had three additions in 2010.

Camper Packets – Youth Haven Ranch in Rives Junction is always in need of packets including needed items for each of their arriving campers.  Each packet includes a washcloth, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, and comb.  In 2010 the ladies prepared and donated 700 packets with the help of the congregation’s donations.

Loose Change Offerings – Annually the change collected is given to Christian Resources International to help with postage costs of mailing Christian Literature and Bibles around the world.

Samaritans Purse Shoeboxes – The entire church contributes individually to this project and the ladies packed 10 boxes together in 2010 to send to children around the world.  The boxes arrive around the Christmas Holiday and are filled with toys and treats for children along with the message of the Gospel.
